SOPHOMORE ART: BEGINNING PROCESSES AND PRINCIPLES OF ARCHITECTURE
Mixed Media Self Portraits:
This project includes many levels of the art process. A headshot was taken of myself, then I was tasked to create a four-paneled self-portrait that contains these elements: pattern, complementary color, black and white, and personal narrative. The result is a dynamic combination of art elements that describe me while offering a visual feast to the eyes of the audience.
Animal Vessels:
The art problem to solve: create an animal (fantasy or real) that can "hold" something. These were made primarily with clay. The sculptures were based on ancient Colombian vessels that were used as objects that held ashes or other important items.
Prints:
Printmaking requires planning and much process. I was required to decide on a word or a phrase to spark my design on a rubber sheet for prints of my design.
